What is it?

The Great Pentlands Push is a cross country trek taking place in the beautiful wilderness of the Pentland Hills, just 12 miles from the centre of Edinburgh.

It is the ultimate team experience suitable for everyone with a choice of three distances:

  • 25-mile Gold Route
  • 18-mile Silver Route
  • 13-mile Bronze Route

All routes begin and end at the Hub area in the picturesque surroundings of Bavelaw Castle. There are water stops and checkpoints on each route offering hot food, energy drinks, snacks and plenty of pampering to soothe those aching joints. The event culminates in a scrumptious meal, entertainment and some well deserved drinks.

The Pentland Hills are to be underestimated at your peril. It takes a lot of determination and teamwork to tackle the beautiful rolling hills under 14 hours, but the sense of achievement when you reach the Hub will stay with you for a long time.

The event raises money towards an essential rebuild St Columba’s Hospice. The Great Pentland Push inspires all who take part and will help to hugely improve hospice care for Edinburgh and the Lothians for many generations to come.
